Wadayalike?
Wadayalike (or “What do you like?”) is a free to play, get-to-know-you party game where you try to guess what someone likes and dislikes. A new set of topics are chosen for each person and the more you guess right, the more points you get. How well do you think you know your friends?

Starting a Game
Wadayalike is best played while connected on a video chat program like Zoom, Google Meet or Skype. The game is played in the browser, so you can connect on your computer or your phone. It’s best if you can play the game on a separate screen from your video chat, but as long as you can hear people talking, it should be fine.
To start a game, go to wadayalike.shinysnail.com and click the ‘Create a New Game’ button.
On the next screen enter your player name.
Sharing the Game
The share dialog should come up automatically. You can always get to this dialog from the share icon in upper left hand corner of the page.
Copy the game URL and share it with your friends. When they join, they will enter their own player names.
How to Play
Object of the Game
Each player will take turns picking topics and indicating which ones they like and dislike while everyone else tries to guess which topics they like and dislike. The more your guess right, the more points you get. After every player has gone, the player with the most points wins. You may continue to play as many rounds as you’d like.
Picking Topics
On your turn, you first must pick the topics. Three random topics will be chosen for you, but if you don’t understand a topic or don’t know whether you like or dislike it, you may click the refresh icon and a new random topic will be chosen for you.
Once you are happy with the chosen topics, click the Submit Topics button.
Indicate Likes and dislikes
After you have chosen your topics, you then have to indicate which topics you like and which topics you dislike. Under each topic, click the thumbs up icon to indicate that you like it and click the thumbs down icon to indicate that you don’t like it.
Click Done when you are finished. If you change your mind, you go back to this step.
Guessing likes and dislikes
When it’s not your turn to pick the topics, you get to guess the likes and dislikes of the other player.
Under each topic, click the thumbs up icon if you think they like it and click the thumbs down icon if you think you don’t like it.
Showing the Results
Once everyone has guessed, the player who picked the topics must click the ‘Show Results’ button.
The results are revealed and a point it awarded to each player for each correct guess.
Keep playing until everyone has picked topics at least once.
A Note From the Developer
This party game was a lot of fun to make! It was made in 2020, during the middle of the pandemic and became a great way to connect with friends and loved ones.
